Producing electronic materials

These electronic materials are very useful tools.
Teachers can use them for different purposes such as: reinforcing grammar, writting,
vocabulary and also reading skills.
The teachers and their students can create their own material or there are other practices that
can be found in the web.

  1. These materials are useful to reinforce and give more practice for weaker learners, review and consolidate the learning process.
Besides, in the book there is a source about puzzles and the address is: http.//puzzlemarker.school.discovery.com/,
    another tool is smile http://smile.clear.msu.edu

I can give two additional tools:

www.englishclub.com is about pronunciation, grammar, synonyms, quizes, etc.

  2. Another concept described in the chapter 10 is the authoring tool.It is a program used to make CD-ROM based reference tools like microsoft Encarta.
Moreover, it is recommended to download and install trial versions before making any decisions related to buy them.
Links that teachers can explore related to the commercial side of multimedia are: http://www.matchware.com/en/products/mediator/edu/why.htm
    http://www.adobe.com/products/director/ or
    http://neosoftware.com/nbw.html.

In the book, one of the most famous authoring tools programs used for educative purposes is Hot potatoes (http://hotpot.uvic.ca/)and it is free downloaded. This program gives different types of web- based exercises like multiple choice, short answer, jumble sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill.
In this program, tutors can see other link related to tutorial examples on the Hot potatoe website (http://hotpot.uvic.ca/tutorials6.htm

For me, the purpose of using electronic materials is to make easier the design of practices for students, to have and use more innovative tools which can bring more dynamics and creativity to the Englsih lessons.

Tomorrow, I will speak about interactive stories, which is the third type of electronic materials.
